From index@THEOLOGYGLOSSARY.txt@
CEREMONIAL LAW –– those Old Covenant commandments which regulated rituals and symbolic actions pertaining to the redemption of God's people and their separation from the unbelieving world, rather than prescriptions about matters which were intrinsically moral

From index@THEOLOGYGLOSSARY.txt@
JUDICIAL LAW –– (tradition theological expression for:) those commandments in the Mosaic law which deliver judgments on cases pertaining to socio-political relations, policy, or rule (e.g., Exodus 21-22)

From index@THEOLOGYGLOSSARY.txt@
RESTORATIVE LAW –– those Old Covenant commandments which regulated rituals and symbolic actions pertaining to the restoration of sinners to God's favor and their separation as God's redeemed people from those still under His wrath (see "ceremonial law")

kjv@Exodus:1 EXODUS - The name means "going out" or departure". While it refers to one of the most important events of the book, the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt, other highly significant events are also found here, such as the oppression of the Chosen People in Egypt, the flight and call of Moses, and God’s covenant with the nation Israel at Sinai - an experience climaxed by His giving of the moral law (Ten Commandments) through Moses to the people. A code of secular laws is also included, and the latter part of the book contains an elaborate description of the sacred Ark of the Covenant and its ten (tabernacle), God’s place of dwelling among His people.

index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyEnvy In the Ten Commandments, the Bible uses the term "covet," which is a synonym for "envy." Because God identified not envying others as one of the top ten most important laws, God clearly sees envy as being something destructive to your well-being.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyEnvy To apply thiscommandment to the present day, you should not envy what other people have, including their houses, cars, wives, bank accounts, status or various possessions.

index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyLying To fully appreciate the NinthCommandment, with its prohibition of lying, we must realize how important truth is to God.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyLying Similarly, thecommandment that explicitly forbids a grave type of lying: lying under oath `against' your neighbor, a mortal sin due to the gravity of perjury and of causing grave harm to your neighbor, also implicitly forbids all lying, even when the act is only a venial sin.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyLying That is why the type of lying condemned in the ten commandments is of the grave type, bearing false witness `against' someone, and not the more common venial lie.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyLying Leviticus condemns lying and perjury under oath; therefore, the broad interpretation of the eighthcommandment is correct.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyStealing Finally, stealing is a serious sin because it is included in the Ten Commandments, which identifies the "ultimate evils" of Israel's day, and of our own as well.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyStealing Another form of stealing and the breaking of this 8thcommandment is GAMBLING.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyStealing And dear friend, whether a man steals with his gun in a bank robbery or with his pen in forging a check, his stealing breaks this 8thcommandment and he is under the judgment of God.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyStealing The importance of the law against stealing is clear from its inclusion as one of the Ten Commandments.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyStealing Jesus reaffirmed thecommandment against stealing.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyStealing "In the final analysis, stealing evidences a man's lack of faith in God, and in His promises to provide for His people, who keep His commandments.
