From index@THEOLOGYGLOSSARY.txt@ AUTONOMY –– thestate of being a "law unto oneself," independent of outside authority
From index@THEOLOGYGLOSSARY.txt@ ESCHATOLOGY –– the doctrine of the "last things" pertaining to the individual (death, afterlife) or to redemption (the coming, course, and consummation of Christ's kingdom, the millennium) or to the world (Christ's return, the resurrection, final judgment, the eternalstate)
From index@THEOLOGYGLOSSARY.txt@ PENOLOGY –– the study or theory of punishment, especially the punishment of criminals by thestate
From index@THEOLOGYGLOSSARY.txt@ THEOCRACY –– literally "the rule of God," however this is thought to be expressed (e.g., by His revealed principles, by His chosen leaders, by Himself in the person of the Son, etc.); the word is variously used by writers for different intended conceptions, some using it as a code word for uniqueness of Old Testament Israel, others using it for any social system where the church rules thestate (or is not separated from it), and still others for a civil government which strives to submit to the socio-political standing laws revealed by God (in Old or New Testaments)
From index@BIBLEBOOKSUMMARY.txt@ kjv@Luke:1 LUKE - There is almost universal agreement that Luke, the "beloved physician" ( Colossians:4:14 ) who accompanied Paul on his missionary travels, was the author of the third Gospel. Luke wrote to present Jesus as the Universal Savior, the compassionate healer and teacher. His careful historical approach is revealed in the preface, which states that the author has traced "all things from the very first". Unlike Mark, this author includes an account of the Virgin Birth, and unlike Matthew he extensively describes the Perean Ministry (Chapters Luke:9-18 ).
From index@BIBLEBOOKSUMMARY.txt@ kjv@John:1 JOHN - The Gospel of John endeavors to explain the mystery of the Person of Christ by the use of the term "logos" (word) and was written to confirm Christians in the belief that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of God. Its purpose is evangelical and is so stated in John:20:31. John not only records events as do the other Gospels but also uniquely interprets the events by giving them spiritual meaning. The author makes significant use of such words as light, water, life, love, and bread. Traditionally the author of this Gospel is considered to have been John, the Beloved Disciple.
From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@ index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyAbuse Substance abuse is a broad term for addiction or inappropriate use of a chemical substance to alter one's mental, emotional or physical state, whether the substance is ingested orally, injected intravenously or inhaled.
From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@ index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyAlcohol The Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences estimates that each year alcoholism and alcohol abuse in the United States cost society from $40 to $60 billion, due to lost production, health and medical care, motor vehicle accidents, violent crime, and social programs that respond to alcohol problems.
From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@ index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyEnvy As described in a story at Wired Magazine, an enterprising team from the Geography Department at KansasState University has created a series of United States maps that purport to show incidence of the seven deadly sins mentioned in the Bible: greed, envy, wrath, sloth, gluttony, lust, and pride.
From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@ index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyForgiveness Legitimate forgiveness is only possible when the victim can look the offender in the eyes and with honestystate, "I hereby extend God's mercy to you and waive any further punishment you rightly deserve and eliminate any further restitution or reparations you may owe to me.
From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@ index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyForgiveness A man admits his guilt (or stated another way, he confesses his sin), requests release from punishment, and is granted forgiveness from the one he offended (forgiveness being the very act of releasing a man from his deserved punishment).
From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@ index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyHostility The application of the above is the federal government and the governments of the 50 states have no authority to oppose or show hostility to religion, specifically the Bible because this case was decided in 1963 and the book specifically discussed by the Court was the Bible.
From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@ index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyPride As it did in the angels that sinned, who, through pride, fell into condemnation, not being able to bear the thought that the human nature, in the person of the Son of God, should be advanced above theirs; and as it did in our first parents, who, not content with their presentstate and circumstances, and ambitious of being as gods, knowing good and evil, ruined themselves and all their posterity; and as it has done in many of their sons, as in Haman, Nebuchadnezzar, and others;
From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@ index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveySexuality More and more, the arguments related to sexuality & Christianity seem to stem from the statement, "But telling people their sexual practices are sinful makes people feel sad & marginalized, and God never wants people to feel sad and marginalized, so they must not be sinful..." Unfortunately for them, the Bible deliberately states that living for Christ is hard & sin does separate you from God and should, ideally, make you feel sad!
From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@ index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveySlothfulness It is still the experience of to-day, as it was of Solomon's time, that slothfulness (indolence) brings down to astate of servitude, if not even deeper, but that vigorous activity raises to dominion or to the position of a master, i.e., to independence, wealth, respect, and power.
From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@ BibleDivorce Jesus' reply in the house is exactly what the reader expects within the logical consistency of His reply to the earlier question regarding divorce rights that He had stated to the Pharisees; divorcing and remarrying is adultery against the present spouse unless the divorce had been for "just-cause."
From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@ BibleDivorce By Paul using this word by noting the divorced spouse, was "NOT" under "dooloo," bondage he provides a statement that this was a divorce by a spouse leaving for no just-cause and he was speaking clearly that the remaining, now non-married spouse is NOT under "dooloo" --- to such unjust servile obligation (bondage).
From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@ BibleDivorce Jesus, however, chose not to condemn directly Herod Antipas, but rather tostate the principle that divorce is only permitted in the case of an unlawful marriage.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@ BibleGambling Gambling in our nation is spreading as the number of states operating lotteries has more than doubled since 1980, making them the ultimate "get-rich-quick" schemes.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@ BibleGambling Supreme Court ruled Native Americans could offer legal gambling games on reservations, withoutstate regulation, if permitted anywhere in thestate, in any form.
From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@ BibleGambling 48 states have legalized some form of gambling - lotteries, casinos, riverboat casinos, Indian casinos, video lottery machines, pari-mutuel betting (horse racing, dog racing, jai-alai).
