akjvMatthew:1 @ ENGLISH: TITLE: American King James Version DESCRIPTION: This is a new translation of the Bible, based on the original King James Version. It is a simple word for word update from the King James English. I have taken care to change nothing doctrinally, but to simply update the spelling and vocabulary. I have not changed the grammar because that could alter the doctrine. RIGTHS: I am hereby putting the American King James version of the Bible into the public domain on November 8, 1999. bweMatthew:1 @ ENGLISH: TITLE: Bible in Worldwide English NT DESCRIPTION: The Bible in Worldwide English (BWE)\par This New Testament was originally prepared by Annie Cressman, who died in 1993. She was a Canadian Bible teacher in Liberia in West Africa. Whilst teaching students in a Bible School where the language used was English, she found that she was spending more time explaining the meaning of the English than she was teaching the Bible itself. So she decided to write this simple version in easy English so that her students could easily understand.\par\par In 1959 the Full Gospel Publishing House in Toronto, Canada, printed a trial edition of the Gospel of Mark. A further edition was published in 1962 by the American Bible Society. The whole New Testament was first published by SOON Publications in India in 1969 in hardback form. This was assisted by Operation Mobilisation (OM) and was reprinted in 1971.\par\par The vision to reprint a new edition of the whole New Testament has now been carried out by SOON in conjunction with EPH and OM. Where a change to more modern words has been made, this has been kept in line with the the Authorised Version. RIGTHS: unknown PUBLISHER: freedom for bible ORG

emtvMatthew:1 @ ENGLISH: TITLE: English Majority Text Version DESCRIPTION: Welcome to the third edition of The English Majority Text Version (EMTV) of the Holy Bible. This latest edition has Greek explanatory notes throughout the Bible, to aid the reader in understanding the meanings in some select places of the original Koine Greek. Also, the third edition finds itself closer to the Robinson/Pierpoint printed edition of the Byzantine majority text, rather than the Hodges/Farstad text, which the EMTV was translated from. You will notice these differences in John 7:53-8:11, as well as the entire book of Revelation. The English Majority Text Version draws from the work of both Dr.’s Hodges and Farstad, and their text, “The Greek New Testament According to the Majority Text,” as well as from Dr. Wilbur Pickering, ThM. PhD., and the EMTV has incorporated his hard work in the field of producing evidence of just what does constitute a majority reading, and, as a result of his work, and the work of others, John 7:53-8:11, and the book of Revelation reflect these variant readings. This is one of the great things about having a Bible that is translated from the majority of the trustworthy Byzantine manuscripts that are in existence—the much greater probability of accuracy. On the other side of the fence, most modern Bibles are translated from a few scant manuscripts (literally), and more often than not they do not even agree with each other. Not so with a Bible that is translated out of the majority! The experts in linguistics who have put these readings together, and diligently compared the manuscripts, had hundreds and hundreds of manuscripts to compare. It is my prayer that this work will bring honor to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and to our God and Father; because all of this, all that we do, we do to know Him better, and to better understand His word, which He has given to mankind. “Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar. (Prove 30:5,6). Peace of Christ to you all. CONTINUITY –– the relation between two things of essential identity similarity, coherence or harmony; the lack of change from one principle or regime to another

From index@THEOLOGYGLOSSARY.txt@
COVENANT THEOLOGY –– the position that all of the post-fall covenants made by God are essentially one, centering on God's gracious promise in Jesus Christ, with each successive covenant expanding on previous ones, rather than disgarding them or running parallel to the others; the covenants prior to Christ were marked by anticipation and administered by foreshadows, while the fulfillment or substance was found in Christ's person and redemptive work, establishing the New Covenant today

From index@THEOLOGYGLOSSARY.txt@
DISCONTINUITY –– the relation between two things of difference, dissimilarity, incoherence or disharmony; the change from one principle or regime to another

From index@THEOLOGYGLOSSARY.txt@
ESCHATOLOGY –– the doctrine of the "last things" pertaining to the individual (death, afterlife) or to redemption (the coming, course, and consummation of Christ's kingdom, the millennium) or to the world (Christ's return, the resurrection, final judgment, the eternal state)

From index@THEOLOGYGLOSSARY.txt@
LEGAL POSITIVISM –– the imperative theory of law which claims that all laws are merely commands of a human sovereign, so that there is no conceptual or necessary connection between law and justice; in this case those within a legal system are unconditionally obligated to obey its laws, however immoral they may be

PEDAGOGIC –– pertaining to teaching, instruction, or education

From index@THEOLOGYGLOSSARY.txt@
PLURALISM –– the view that civil policy should balance the rights of various social spheres (e.g., family, school, church, business) and protect the rights of all conflicting viewpoints within the society, thereby not being based upon or favoring any one distinctive religion, philosophy, party, or sphere of life

From index@THEOLOGYGLOSSARY.txt@
POSTMILLENNIALISM –– the eschatological view that Christ will return "after the millennium"; Christ has established His Messianic kingdom on earth, it is growing in numbers, area, and influence by means of the preaching of the gospel and Christian nurture, and it will have visible, worldwide, and blessed success before Christ returns at the general resurrection for final judgment

From index@THEOLOGYGLOSSARY.txt@
SITUATIONISM –– the ethical view that right and wrong cannot be defined in advance for general types of circumstances and actions, so that moral decisions should not be based upon laws; the "loving" . thing to do must be determined by the situation itself, using a utilitarian approach (seeking the greatest pleasure or happiness for the greatest number of people)

kjv@1Chronicles:1 1CHRONICLES - In the Hebrew Canon these books formed a single volume called "Things of the days" (i.e., annals). The translators of the Greek Septuagint Version gave them the title, Paraleipomena, meaning "things left over", implying their use as a supplement to Samuel and Kings. Jerome (c. A.D. 340-420) called them "a chronicle of the whole and sacred history" from Adam to Cyrus (538 B.C.), hence their English name. Actually, Chronicles is a summary of Hebrew history that duplicates much of Samuel and Kings.

From index@BIBLEBOOKSUMMARY.txt@
kjv@Proverbs:1 PROVERBS - This book is a compendium of proverb collections. Although Solomon inspired the development of the book, its entire content did not derive from him. A proverb is a short, pithy saying with practical implications. The ones included here cover a variety of subjects, for example, chastity, control of the tongue, laziness, knowledge, relations with others, justice. Perhaps above everything else in Proverbs there is the reiterated assertion that the source of true wisdom is "the fear of the Lord".

From index@BIBLEBOOKSUMMARY.txt@
kjv@Ecclesiastes:1 ECCLESIASTES - In English, the title means "Preacher". Traditionally held to have been written by Solomon, this book is now almost universally recognized as about him rather than by him. The author’s purpose is to prove the vanity of everything "under the sun". This truth is first announced a fact, then proved from the "Preacher’s" experience and observations. Finally, the author shows that the fullness of life is found only in the recognition of things "above the sun", things spiritual as well as material.

From index@BIBLEBOOKSUMMARY.txt@
kjv@Obadiah:1 OBADIAH - This shortest of the prophetic books, containing only 21 verses, is a scathing denunciation of the Edomites, descendants of Esau, who from the beginning had been hostile to Israel. Its message is primarily one of destruction and doom for Edom. The latter part of the prophecy is concerned with the Day of the Lord when God’s judgment will be upon other nations as well as Edom and concludes with the promise that "the kingdom shall be the Lord’s".

From index@BIBLEBOOKSUMMARY.txt@
kjv@Nahum:1 NAHUM - This book is a vivid prediction of the approaching downfall of Nineveh, the capital city of Assyria, one of the most warlike of the ancient heathen nations. Of the Prophet Nahum, whose name means "consolation" or "comfort", little is known. His purpose was to comfort his people, long harassed by Assyria, with the promise that this cruel and oppressing people would soon meet destruction at God’s hand.

From index@BIBLEBOOKSUMMARY.txt@
kjv@Zephaniah:1 ZEPHANIAH - This book, though brief, is comprehensive, embracing the two great themes of prophetic teaching: judgment and salvation - both extending to all nations. In some great catastrophe of his day, perhaps the Scythian invasion (c. 626 B.C.), Zephaniah sees God’s terrible judgment upon the nations, including Judah. He exhorts the people to repent and assures them that God will dwell in the midst of a righteous remnant following repentance.

From index@BIBLEBOOKSUMMARY.txt@
kjv@Haggai:1 HAGGAI - This book, the first among the writings of the post-Exilic prophets, consists of four prophecies delivered within the space of 4 months, some 15 years after the return of the first exiles to Jerusalem. Work on the second Temple has begun shortly after the exiles’ arrival, but had been delayed for almost two decades. Haggai comes forward with a series of timely and vigorous messages challenging the people to respond wholeheartedly to a noble task - rebuilding the House of God.

From index@BIBLEBOOKSUMMARY.txt@
kjv@Zechariah:1 ZECHARIAH - Sometimes called the "Apocalypse of the Old Testament", this book contains the messages of the Prophet Zechariah, a contemporary of Haggai. The main division of the book ( Zechariah:1-8 , Zechariah:9-14 ) are noticeably dissimilar in both style and subject matter, a fact that has led some to assign the last division ( Zechariah:9-14 ) to another author. The first eight chapters are primarily concerned with the rebuilding of the Temple, although the language used is highly symbolical. Chapters Zechariah:9-14 deal with "last things", the "end time". Many Messianic references are found, and the writer foresees the Day of the Lord when Israel will be restored, the nations judged, and God’s kingdom triumphant.

From index@BIBLEBOOKSUMMARY.txt@
kjv@Matthew:1 MATTHEW - From at least the 2nd century A.D., the Gospel of Matthew has been ascribed to Matthew the publican, tax collector, and disciple. It is the most complete account of Jesus’ teachings and was written to convince the writer’s Jewish audience that Jesus was the Messiah descended from David, the One promised by the Old Testament Prophets. It is peculiarly the Gospel for Israel. The most significant teaching passages are the Sermon on the Mount ( Matthew:5-7 ) and the parable sections (especially Chapter Matthew:13 ).

From index@BIBLEBOOKSUMMARY.txt@
kjv@Mark:1 MARK - The Gospel of Mark, the shortest, is also held by most to be the first of the Gospels to be written. A tradition dating from the 2nd century ascribes this book to John Mark, a companion of Peter and also of Paul and Barnabas in their missionary endeavors. The preaching of Peter may well have been the source of most of Mark’s material. Mark accounts for the ministry of Jesus from His Baptism to His Ascension. Most commentaries agree that Mark’s purpose was neither biographical nor historical, but theological: to present Jesus as the Christ, the mighty worker rather than great teacher. Hence, Mark makes fewer references to the Parables and discourses, but meticulously records each of Jesus’ "mighty works" as evidence of His divine power. Mark contains 20 specific miracles and alludes to others. Bible scholars quite generally agree that Mark wrote his Gospel in Rome for the gentiles.

From index@BIBLEBOOKSUMMARY.txt@
kjv@Luke:1 LUKE - There is almost universal agreement that Luke, the "beloved physician" ( Colossians:4:14 ) who accompanied Paul on his missionary travels, was the author of the third Gospel. Luke wrote to present Jesus as the Universal Savior, the compassionate healer and teacher. His careful historical approach is revealed in the preface, which states that the author has traced "all things from the very first". kjv@Acts:1 ACTS - Addressed to a certain Theophilus, about whom nothing is known ( Acts:1:1 ), the Book of Acts records the early history of the Apostolic Church. Beginning with the Ascension of Jesus to heaven, it traces the growth of Christianity in Palestine and its spread to Syria, Asia Minor, Greece, and eventually to Rome. The leading figure in the first chapters is Peter, who delivered the stirring sermon on the day of Pentecost ( Acts:2 ). The greater part of the book, however, is devoted to the experiences of Paul and his companions during their missionary endeavors. The Book of Acts provides a useful background for study of the Pauline Epistles. The introduction ( Acts:1:1 ) attests to a Lukan authorship.

kjv@1Corinthians:1 1CORINTHIANS - This letter discusses doctrinal and ethical problems that were disturbing the Corinthian church, and presents a picture of the life of a particular local congregation in New Testament times. Writing from Ephesus, where he spent at lead three year, Paul addresses the Corinthian church concerning the significance of the new life in Christ, which should be demonstrated in the fellowship within the Church. He advises them regarding spiritual gifts ( 1Corinthians:12 ), Christian love ( 1Corinthians:13 ), and the meaning of the Resurrection ( 1Corinthians:15 ).

kjv@Hebrews:1 HEBREWS - Although tradition ascribed Hebrews to Paul, it is now generally believed to have been written by someone other than the Apostle, but certainly someone who was acquainted with Paul’s teaching. The Epistle portrays Jesus, who performed the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world, as the great High Priest of the line of Melchizedek ( Genesis:14 ). The Bible’s only definition of faith occurs in this Epistle (Chap. Hebrews:11 ) and is followed by the "great line of splendor" of the men of faith.

index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyEnvy Envy will make your life miserable: you will waste your time wishing for what the other person has; weeping over what you do not have; never appreciating what God has given you and using what He has given you in His service and for His glory.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyEnvy I merely asked a question and yes I get a whole page of insult and mans teaching in patience I answer as best I can with tolerance of understanding which comes from understanding the enemy and how he manipulates all the FATHERS children to fear, anger, hatred, division, jealousy, envy, greed and power to name a few and I do this not for myself but so others might step away from themselves, if only for one moment so they can see the lie for what it truly is, pathetic.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@

index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyFoolishness This way of preaching is very impolite and unfashionable, and therefore despised; it is a doctrine which is not received by the wise and learned, but has been in all ages loaded with reproach, stigmatized either as a novel or licentious doctrine, and attended with persecution; though the only doctrine God owns for conversion, which administers comfort to distressed souls, and is food for the faith of believers; yea, it is a display of the highest wisdom; is what angels approve of, and desire to look into; is wiser than the wisdom of men; it has made foolish the wisdom of this world, and is what is only able to make a man wise unto salvation; and yet this doctrine is accounted foolish, yea foolishness itself; but to whom is it so?

index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyForgiveness And because we misunderstand God's grace and think we have to pay Him off with a certain level of performance for the forgiveness He has offered us, we think we have the right to turn around and demand payment from others before we have to forgive them.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyHostility It does not mean the mind itself, the intellect, or the will; it does not suppose that the mind or soul is physically depraved, or opposed to God; but it means that the minding of the things of the flesh, giving to them supreme attention, is hostility against God; and involves the sinner in a controversy with him, and hence, leads to death and woe.

index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyHostility "Nothing we have said here indicates that such study of the Bible or of religion, when presented objectively as part of a secular program of education, nay not be effected consistent with the First Amendment." From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyImagination This movement or transference of His image onto or into our own countenance is, I think, largely what Ricoeur is getting at with his use of the term "imagination." If we try to study the scriptures in merely an academic, or historical-critical way, without ever involving ourselves, and hence our own imagination, in the process of interpretation, then the meaning of text remains effectively lifeless for us.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyImagination This, then, is a second way in which to think Christianity about the arts: the Bible affirms that the artistic imagination and its creations have value in themselves, not simply for the religious or ideational content they may contain.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@

And, you know, so I mean I have been through that too, that kind of intimidation that makes you

index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyShyness In a way I think timidity and shyness is of the Enemy because it is a form of fear and it's a form of worry and a form of pride, basically.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyShyness The shy person is usually so busy thinking about HIMSELF that he says "sh" to any other subject and won't talk about it!--A lot of shyness is simply SELF-consciousness--to be overly conscious of one's self.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyShyness Another reason for shyness is that people often think that what THEY have to say cannot possibly be as interesting to others as what everybody ELSE in the World is saying.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyShyness I think the Bible's stance on shyness would be that you aren't getting the full benefit of your life by interacting with others...but that's just my opinion.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyShyness Something that's really helped me overcome shyness is choosing to step out and overcome it.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyShyness Shyness (of the general variety sort, I'llleave the pretty girl thing to others) is more about an awkwardness around others you don't know, an uncertainty about what to say or do, and a finding of social situations to consume much energy, rather than a "fear of man." I'm quite shy myself, but I don't find where any of this has to do with fear of anything.

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyShyness I found it to be very encouraging, as I have been struggling a lot lately with my "shyness" (or the fact that I'm trying to overcome it), which really does come down to my fear of what other people think.

index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyShyness Finally, I think these verses from the book of Proverbs should seal the deal that shyness can, indeed, be a good thing, because it allows people to think about what is going on, and make more wise decisions, rather than being rash and making mistakes:

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@

From index@GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES.txt@
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyShyness BUT -- examine your heart to determine those instances in your own life where "shyness" MIGHT indeed be "fear of man," something the Lord disapproves of, and something for which there's a treatment: fearing God instead.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleDivorce Jesus was providing them the target moral reason why a right to Divorce had been necessary (the divorce law instituted by Moses) and why this right had remained in effect within a morally fallen world.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleDivorce Jesus, (speaking) within the First Century "divorcing" environment was recognizing the Roman right of a woman to divorce her husband, applying it to His hearers' lives and He made no suggestion that this would have been an incorrect moral view regarding divorce processes within the divorce right.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleDivorce Jesus' reply in the house is exactly what the reader expects within the logical consistency of His reply to the earlier question regarding divorce rights that He had stated to the Pharisees; divorcing and remarrying is adultery against the present spouse unless the divorce had been for "just-cause."

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleDivorce Jesus could have used the Greek word, "moicheia defined, "adultery"~ if He were teaching that adultery is the only "just-cause" basis for divorce.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleDivorce It follows that within this context of His teaching that while there was NO divorce "RIGHT "for merely ANY CAUSE, (and never had been) Mark's account must be read as Jesus explaining to them that if a man or woman divorces his/her spouse (and remarries) without a just-cause...then the man or woman who had divorced his/her spouse without a just-cause, was committing adultery against that spouse.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleDivorce There is no other rational/logical/consistent way to understand this exchange regarding a right to divorce that both Matthew and Mark recounts (and the Apostle Paul will later acknowledge and expand upon within his writings).

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleDivorce Within the time of their day (the First Century), divorce was a private matter. There were no divorce "courts."

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleDivorce Further, the implications of Pauls response to his admonition to remain unmarried or be reconciled within this divorced situation supports the concept that to divorce for no just-cause reason ( as it frees the spouse to remarry), places the burden of a quick resolution for reconciliation upon the spouse who left the marriage without just-cause.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleDivorce Paul's letters provide further support of his understanding of the teachings of Jesus regarding a just-cause basis for divorce and remarriage (i.e., that remarriage becomes an automatic right upon divorce)

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleDivorce Paul speaks of a divorce right centering upon immoral choices within marriage (one cause being a divorce via abandonment of a marriage through an unjust divorce action);

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleDivorce I came to think about that statement in a whole new way when I went through my own divorce.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleDivorce The first significant Matthean contribution regarding Jesus' teaching on divorce and remarriage is found in the context of the Sermon on the Mount.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleDivorce While today we can bring together the teaching of Jesus on divorce as found in all the three Synoptic Gospels, the Gentile readers of Mark's or Luke's Gospels, who did not have access to Matthew's Gospel which circulated primarily among the Jewish-Christians, had no way of knowing that Jesus made allowance for divorce and remarriage in the case of marital unfaithfulness.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleDivorce It also harmonizes the difference between Matthew and Mark/Luke in Jesus' teaching on divorce.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleDivorce According to this interpretation, Jesus allows for divorce only where a marriage should not have taken place in the first place, namely, within the degrees of prohibited relationships.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleDivorce His teaching on divorce and remarriage are most significant since they represent the earliest Christian interpretation and application of Christ's teaching to concrete situations.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleDivorce To appreciate the revolutionary nature of such teaching, it is important to remember that divorce and remarriage was allowed in both the Jewish and Roman society.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleDivorce The "leveling off" of the US divorce rate isn't a sign of some kind of an improvement, but rather a change in the importance that your government attaches to the collection marriage and divorce data, the simplest data in the world to collect, something that even Rwanda and Haiti have managed to accomplish.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleDivorce Conversely, however, if a woman objects to an unbiblical divorce action by her husband, then she must be held blameless for something her husband does against her will.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleElderly May society use to their full potential those elderly people who in some parts of the world I think especially of Africa are rightly esteemed as living encyclopaedias of wisdom, guardians of an inestimable treasure of human and spiritual experiences.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleElderly The ideal is still for the elderly to remain within the family, with the guarantee of effective social assistance for the greater needs which age or illness entail.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleElderly Everything becomes easier when each elderly resident is helped by family, friends and parish communities to feel loved and still useful to society.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleElderly And, when men assume the caregiving role, they are more likely to take on less personal chores such as home repair and gardening, with female caregivers taking on the feeding, toileting, and bathing of the disabled spouse.^10 Such gender roles nonwithstanding, it is clear that an ethical analysis of marriage is needed to give sharper focus to spousal responsibilities in caring for elderly spouses.

BibleGambling Some argue that gambling is nothing more than entertainment, no more immoral than going to a movie or concert.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleGambling Because gambling encourages the "getting something for nothing" philosophy, it also encourages laziness and indolence.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleGambling Yet, most conservative Christians frown upon gambling of any kind, be it lotteries, slot machines, horse or dog racing, the Irish sweepstakes, roulette wheels, poker, bridge, or flipping a coin to see who pays for the soda.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleGambling 48 states have legalized some form of gambling - lotteries, casinos, riverboat casinos, Indian casinos, video lottery machines, pari-mutuel betting (horse racing, dog racing, jai-alai).

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleGambling Eighth, legalized gambling makes the government a promoter of a "get something for nothing" attitude.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleGambling Just because something has been legalized by passing a law, does not make it right, and the evidence is abundant that society suffers when gambling reigns.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleGambling Gambling is really wanting something that we have no right to have, and without laboring for it.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleGrief Certainly, grief and sorrow are natural emotions that we all experience when we lose someone or something and it is not wrong to feel it at the time a loss or tragedy occurs.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleGrief That is often one of the results of grief When we grieve, we can see nothing but a bleak and empty future.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleGrief The other extreme is becoming so consumed by our grief that nothing else matters.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleGrief One thing the survivor must do in grief management is deal with the immediate intense emotions, practical issues of the funeral, and financial problems of the moment.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleGrief It is a poignant testimony to human love, and I'm not sure how to respond to it.There is something in our British upbringing which shies away from `too much' personal confession of searing grief. To describe it without complaining, to reveal the pain, and anguish without expecting anyone to understand, is a rare gift because those who are not bereft cannot ever feel the desolation of those who do.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleGrief Grief can affect our thinking, behavior, emotions, relationships, and health.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleGrief Recognizing that these are common reactions to grief can help us minimize them by reaching out to friends, joining a prayer group, or asking a pastor or Christian counselor for assistance.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleGrief When we can transform grief into gratitude, major shifts can occur within ourselves and we can regain a closer connection with a passing loved one.

BibleHarm Now coming to self-harm, it can never be pleasing to God because the attitude behind it does not glorify him.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleHarm We may think that harm has overtaken us.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleHarm By consciously setting my mind's priority to actively will no harm on all beings, I joyfully think the Wisdom of God as my own.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleHarm It interests me, I will be honest if I had my way Obama would not be our president, when I read this I did not think it suggested committing harm to the president.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleHarm The first thing one should notice is that the word touch actually means physical harm.

BibleHomelessness This makes the whole task of taking on homelessness a bit more manageable because now it is not one small group trying to fix everything but each of us taking time out to foster relationships with the homeless we see on a regular basis (for those of us who are in environments where that is possible).

BibleLoneliness Loneliness often seems more intense when we have nothing to do.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleLoneliness Solitude can be a refreshing experience, it can be rejuvenating and even enjoyable - but loneliness is something that is painful, draining, and unpleasant.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleLoneliness Vance Havner, that great South American preacher, put it like this: 'One of the worst things about loneliness is that you can't run away from it' - you can't run away from it.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleLoneliness There are things that we can alter, if we can alter anything it should be altered to help us in our loneliness.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleLoneliness People tend to hide things such as loneliness fairly well -- so that to the casual observer everything seems fine.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleLoneliness Sociologists say that loneliness is the most painful of the emotions because it seeps in everywhere, and drains the joy out of everything.

BibleMarriage There are several epistles written by the apostle Paul that refer to marriage and how believers are to operate within the marriage relationship.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleMarriage If you are experiencing troubles in your marriage (even if you aren't, this is a good thing to do anyway), despite the circumstances, one of the first ways to start the healing process is by confessing your wrongs and then asking for forgiveness.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleMarriage I would like to say marriage is what you make of it,many people are ready to give up far to often and far to quick. If you tuust Gpd and beleive in his word you can have a successful marriage.Communication is one if not the most important aspects of a marriage, when you learn to communicate with your spouse their is nothing you will not be able to tlk about.I have been married for almost five years and it has been the ruffiest five years of my life, but with God on my side and me really learning how to trust God,we would not have made it.I had to really start living what i said i believed in,thats key to a successful marriage live what you say u believe, because people are looking at the outside not the insidebe encourage

BibleMarriage A God blessed marriage is the best thing in life.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleMarriage Our marriage hasn't been perfect, we have had our ups and downs but I never thought things would come to what they have.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleMarriage People with serious marital problems have complained frequently to marriage counselors that they have little or nothing in common.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleMarriage When either partner does not find that mutual harmony and delight in the marriage act, something is definitely wrong.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleMarriage If you want a happy marriage, make up your minds that you are going to live within your means.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleMarriage For example, if they realise a lot of arguments begin when their marriage partner belittles them when they make mistakes, they could say to them in a non-confrontational way something like, "Do you think that in future, instead of telling me I'm no good at something whenever I make a mistake, you could simply suggest ways I could do it better from now on, or be a bit patient, knowing I'll probably work out a better way myself?"

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleMarriage When a couple are trying to improve their marriage, each partner in it can think of several little manageable ways in which they want the other one to behave differently.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleMarriage On the other hand, some Gnostics and early Christians practiced group marriage, taking 'holding all things in common' to the extreme.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleMarriage In any event, it should be recognized by biblical students (and those wishing to abide by the principles of the scriptural revelation) that marriage in biblical times was more a legal agreement between the parents of a young man and woman than an emotional and independent covenant made by the young couple themselves.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleMarriage Can you put the hurt and pang behind you, and focus on healing your marriage?

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleMarriage If we are to understand these metaphors then we must become experts on the Bible's teachings on marriage.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleRelationship Like all sexual behavior, it can be a sin if it is exploitive or manipulative or not carried out safely within a committed relationship.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleRelationship I cringe at some of the boneheaded things I have done that made a good relationship with good people turn bad.

BibleTeen "Without a doubt, teen Americas confusion regarding truth is a reflection of the distorted and contradictory teaching and modeling they receive from adults." (Ibid, p.44)

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleTeen Combating the idea of adolescence as a vacation from responsibility, the authors weave together biblical insights, history, and modern examples to redefine the teen years as the launching pad of life and map a clear trajectory for long-term fulfillment and eternal impact.

From index@GOOGLEQUOTESISSUES.txt@
BibleTeen These Christian Teen Devotionals will help you as a teen to think about yourself from a Biblical perspective, and to give you a proper focus regarding who you are, and what your true purpose in life is.
