@ PHARISEES –– a separatist and self-righteous sect in Judaism which prided itself in strict adherence to the Mosaic law, but which attended only to external and trifling details and actually nullified the law by adding to it human traditions
@ PURITY PRINCIPLES –– those truths taught or symbolized by ceremonial laws of outward cleanliness, such as the pollution of sin and its repugnance to a holy God, so that only one untainted by defilement may approach Him (e.g., laws dealing with purification for priests, issues of blood, disfigurement, leprosy)

From index@BIBLEBOOKSUMMARY.txt@
kjv@Judges:1 JUDGES - Named after the "Judges of Israel," the heroic leaders whose deeds it records, this book covers a period of time from the death of Joshua to the birth of Samuel, an era often called "the dark ages" of Hebrew history. Here is a story, on the human side, of disobedience and disaster, and on the divine side, of direction and deliverance. Of the 13 judges named, only 3 are well known: Deborah, Gideon, and Samson.
kjv@1Samuel:1 1SAMUEL - These books were named after Samuel, not only because he is the principal figure in the first part, but also because he anointed the two other principal characters, Saul and David. Originally a single book which was divided when translated into Greek, the books of Samuel cover a period of time in Israel’s history from the birth of Samuel to the close of the reign of David. First Samuel presents the transition from Israel’s judges to the monarchy. Second Samuel deals almost exclusively with the history of David and presents a vivid picture of the theocratic monarchy in which the king represents God’s rule over the people.
kjv@2Samuel:1 2SAMUEL - These books were named after Samuel, not only because he is the principal figure in the first part, but also because he anointed the two other principal characters, Saul and David. Originally a single book which was divided when translated into Greek, the books of Samuel cover a period of time in Israel’s history from the birth of Samuel to the close of the reign of David. First Samuel presents the transition from Israel’s judges to the monarchy. Second Samuel deals almost exclusively with the history of David and presents a vivid picture of the theocratic monarchy in which the king represents God’s rule over the people.
kjv@Ecclesiastes:1 ECCLESIASTES - In English, the title means "Preacher". Traditionally held to have been written by Solomon, this book is now almost universally recognized as about him rather than by him. The author’s purpose is to prove the vanity of everything "under the sun". This truth is first announced a fact, then proved from the "Preacher’s" experience and observations. Finally, the author shows that the fullness of life is found only in the recognition of things "above the sun", things spiritual as well as material.
kjv@Songs:1 THE SONG OF SOLOMON - This book, the only one in the Bible that has love for its sole theme, is a collection or cycle of marriage songs. Again, as with Ecclesiastes, the composition is about Solomon, and not by him. The Song is didactic and moral in its purpose, and has traditionally been interpreted as showing God’s love for His Chosen People and Christ’s love for His Bride, the Church.
kjv@Obadiah:1 OBADIAH - This shortest of the prophetic books, containing only 21 verses, is a scathing denunciation of the Edomites, descendants of Esau, who from the beginning had been hostile to Israel. Its message is primarily one of destruction and doom for Edom. The latter part of the prophecy is concerned with the Day of the Lord when God’s judgment will be upon other nations as well as Edom and concludes with the promise that "the kingdom shall be the Lord’s".
kjv@John:1 JOHN - The Gospel of John endeavors to explain the mystery of the Person of Christ by the use of the term "logos" (word) and was written to confirm Christians in the belief that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of God. Its purpose is evangelical and is so stated in kjv@John:20:31 . John not only records events as do the other Gospels but also uniquely interprets the events by giving them spiritual meaning. The author makes significant use of such words as light, water, life, love, and bread. Traditionally the author of this Gospel is considered to have been John, the Beloved Disciple.
kjv@Philemon:1 PHILEMON - This shortest of all Paul’s letters was addressed to Philemon (although two other persons are included in the salutation). Paul entreats Philemon, the master of Onesimus, a runaway slave, to receive him back as a brother in Christ ( kjv@Philemon:1:16-17 ). This very personal letter reveals not only the concern of the Apostle for a converted slave but also a practical demonstration of brotherhood in Christ, "where there is neither bond (slave) nor free". ( kjv@Galatians:3:28 )
kjv@Hebrews:1 HEBREWS - Although tradition ascribed Hebrews to Paul, it is now generally believed to have been written by someone other than the Apostle, but certainly someone who was acquainted with Paul’s teaching. The Epistle portrays Jesus, who performed the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world, as the great High Priest of the line of Melchizedek ( kjv@Genesis:14 ). The Bible’s only definition of faith occurs in this Epistle (Chap. kjv@Hebrews:11 ) and is followed by the "great line of splendor" of the men of faith.

index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyAbuse @ The result is that many victims of abuse lose not only their marriage but their church fellowship.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyAddiction @ I used to think that marijuana created only a psychological dependence, without physical addiction.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyAddiction @ As with all sin addictions, the only true cure for sex addiction is Jesus Christ.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyAddiction @ Only through conquering addiction in all of these areas will people truly experience the healing powers, grace, and victory of our Lord Jesus Christ!
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyAddiction @ The first step to conquering the evil of addiction is to access the victorious powers of God through his one and only son Jesus Christ!
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyAlcohol @ Too many missionaries have been sent back home as alcoholics from cultures where drinking was integral to the culture, after having been told that alcohol was amoral and only subject to cultural context.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyAlcohol @ The only full proof method of not becoming addicted to alcohol is to not take the first drink.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyAlcohol @ The only purpose I can see for drinking alcohol is to use a drug to artificially change your mood and demeanor.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyAlcohol @ Mothers and fathers are often so concerned about marijuana, cocaine, and other drugs that they are almost relieved to learn that their children are only dabbling with alcohol.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyAnger @ The Old Testament Law not only revealed that conduct which was unacceptable to God, making Him angry, but what the consequences of God's anger would be.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyAnger @ (3) Godly anger is not explosive, but is only slowly provoked.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyAnger @ I want to begin by saying that this study is not only for those of you who would like to learn Anger management tips and Anger Management techniques on how to overcome your own anger, but is also for those of you who would like to learn how to cope with people that get angry with you.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyAnxiety @ Anxiety is tightly woven into the fabric of our daily life but there is a solution to not only cope with it but to stop anxiety altogether.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyArgument @ Cosmological argument (God as the only power capable of creating the universe and everything in it)
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyArgument @ An argument is valid if and only if the truth of the conclusion is a logical consequence of the premises and (consequently) its corresponding conditional is a necessary truth.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyCheating @ However, if a husband or wife is really only interested in themselves and aren't that bothered by cheating on their spouse I think that divorce is probably the right choice.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyDaydreaming @ as a man who has been on all kindas of drugs for mental problems i'll tell you right now, it's only temporary, if that....the only way to solve this stuff is to change the way you think......meditation and daydreaming are not the same, mediation is INTENSE concentration and if your feeling drowsy and your mind wanders your not doing it right, you should be aware of everything around you, your body and enviroment when meditating
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyDelusion @ "A deluding influence" is literally, "a working of error or delusion." "Working" is energeia, "working, operation, action," but in the New Testament, always of what is supernatural.^73 "Error" is plane, a "wandering, roaming." In the New Testament it is used only figuratively of wandering from the path of truth in the sense of error, delusion, deceit, deception to which one becomes subject.^74 We should contrast this with the powerful working of the Word in those who
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyDepression @ This type of depression - more commonly referred to as `the blues' - is quite a bit different from the black pit of gloom that many people who suffer from actual depression say that they experience.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyDishonesty @ Although people who are dishonest with money believe that they are building up their possessions, the Bible tells us that dishonesty will only result in losing your possessions.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyDishonesty @ The unjust steward - It is not said that his master commended him because he was "unjust," but because he was "wise." This is the only thing in his conduct of which there is any approbation expressed, and this approbation was expressed by "his master." This passage cannot be brought, therefore, to prove that Jesus meant to commend his dishonesty.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyDisobedience @ Any disobedience could only be atoned with blood only- this is the reason for all the sacrifices.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyDisobedience @ As each of these qualities develops in you, you will find not only the sin of disobedience fading, but other sins as well.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyDisobedience @ So we believe that civil disobedience is justified only when government compels us to sin, or when there is no legal recourse for fighting injustice.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyDisregard @ They only disregard the things they don't FEEL like practicing; no sex before marriage, church every Sat or Sun, no adultery...
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyDisregard @ Therefore, those that believe that the only authority for Christians is Scripture and disregard all traditions are missing an aspect of true Christianity.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyDistrust @ He is infinitely sympathetic in His insight, and infallibly knows where distrust comes only of the dim perceptions and weak mis-givings of our mortal nature, and where, on the other hand, a moral resistance lies at the back of the non-confidence.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyDistrust @ It is only natural that the distrust that is the moral foundation of the socialist ideology eventually becomes the dominant moral mood in a culture where the socialist ideology is dominant.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyDoubt @ Well, not only should your faith in God's Word be with certainty, but the determination to pattern your life after it should also be without any reservation or doubt about what anyone else may think and without any doubts that it is still applicable in the world that we live in today, since modern times are so vastly different in many ways than ancient times.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyDoubt @ Thomas and Peter weren't the only Apostles that had episodes of doubt.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyDoubt @ Some forms of doubt are evil and exist only as destructive influences--they exist to destroy.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyDrugs @ Not only is sorcery found in Galatians, but in a multitude of other verses as well, all implying the use of marijuana and other drugs.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyDrugs @ (2) Some Christians not only continue to support recreational alcohol abuse, but also attempt to argue that drugs are 'okay' too, based on two basic arguments:
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyEnvy @ These Old Testament examples of envy remind us that: (1) In many cases envy is over matters that pertain only to earthly, material affairs, and not to the spiritual; (2) Envy often raises its ugly head to cause division in ones own family; (3) One can be despised and envied, even though he/she is not guilty of "rubbing it in" that he/she has something that others lack; (4) Envy can even infect the hearts of those that serve Jehovah.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyEnvy @ "Envy commonly lies in the same line of business, occupation, or rank." We do not, usually envy a monarch, a conqueror, or a nobleman, unless we are "aspiring" to the same rank.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyEnvy @ I merely asked a question and yes I get a whole page of insult and mans teaching in patience I answer as best I can with tolerance of understanding which comes from understanding the enemy and how he manipulates all the FATHERS children to fear, anger, hatred, division, jealousy, envy, greed and power to name a few and I do this not for myself but so others might step away from themselves, if only for one moment so they can see the lie for what it truly is, pathetic.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyExcess @ Not only is it dumb to drink in excess, but there is always the danger of this leading to addiction.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyFaithlessness @ When God's people departed from Him all the more emphasis was put upon His faithfulness, so that the only hope of His wayward people lay not only in His grace and mercy but also in His faithfulness, which stands in marked contrast with the faithlessness and inconstancy of His people.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyFoolishness @ This way of preaching is very impolite and unfashionable, and therefore despised; it is a doctrine which is not received by the wise and learned, but has been in all ages loaded with reproach, stigmatized either as a novel or licentious doctrine, and attended with persecution; though the only doctrine God owns for conversion, which administers comfort to distressed souls, and is food for the faith of believers; yea, it is a display of the highest wisdom; is what angels approve of, and desire to look into; is wiser than the wisdom of men; it has made foolish the wisdom of this world, and is what is only able to make a man wise unto salvation; and yet this doctrine is accounted foolish, yea foolishness itself; but to whom is it so?
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyForgiveness @ Too often we think we have extended forgiveness when we have only covered over our resentment.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyForgiveness @ Only when we grow in grace and the knowledge of Christ, and increase in faith, will we also increase in forgiveness and mercy.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyForgiveness @ Legitimate forgiveness is only possible when the victim can look the offender in the eyes and with honesty state, "I hereby extend God's mercy to you and waive any further punishment you rightly deserve and eliminate any further restitution or reparations you may owe to me.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyForgiveness @ It is a sad commentary on modern Christianity that so many have diluted the word forgiveness to the improper and worthless concept of, "I am not angry with you but you must still pay for your wrongdoing." Our entire eternal destiny and assurance of resurrection to everlasting life depends on there being only one valid meaning for the word forgiveness in the Bible, "to be freed from ones own deserved future punishment."
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyForgiveness @ Gimmicks, like offering false forgiveness, may make great public spectacle but they only compound the real problem.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyForgiveness @ Forgiveness can only be freely initiated and offered by the victim, else it becomes a perversion of justice.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyForgiveness @ When a wrongdoer confesses his guilt, only then does he become eligible for requesting and receiving forgiveness.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyHarm @ This journey you are about to embark upon is not only for those struggling with self harm and self injury and want to find a way out, but for those that know someone who is struggling with it.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyHarm @ If they have been given boundaries, yet those boundaries are not maintained, it causes great harm to a child, as they will not only be in dangerous territory, they will also lose respect for authority.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyImagination @ Our imagination gives us only another aspect of God's nature, not the full picture.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyImagination @ The Hebrew word signifies not only the imagination, but also the purposes and desires.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyIntimidation @ It is a spirit, therefore, even those with strong personalties and strong spiritual lives can be faced with or succumb to a spirit of intimidation, and a controlling spirit is not among only those with strong personalities, it can come from more quiet people too.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyIntimidation @ He has mailed them to hundreds of thousands of people promising them a financial miracle if they will send him, quote, "A check for the best possible gift you can give." And then there is a reminder in this mailing, quote, "Only you and God know what your best gift is." A little intimidation there, and if you will send for him the best gift you can give, you will get a miracle coin that guarantees you a miracle.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyIntimidation @ Comparison leads only to pride or intimidation.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyLust @ To understand how God feels about this topic, we only need to examine other verses that deal with issues such as lust, self-control, and purity.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyLust @ The lust of the flesh - The word "lust" is used here in the general sense of desire, or that which is the object of desire - not in the narrow sense in which it is now commonly used to denote libidinous passion.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyLust @ In the Bible there is a sexual connotation to lust, but this is only a small part of what the Bible means.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyLust @ God is our source of strength, and the only defense against the enemy's attacks of lust.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyLying @ Lying is not only speaking an untruth; another form of lying is not keeping our word to others.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyLying @ A common version of a white lie is to tell only part of the truth, therefore not be suspected of lying, yet also conceal something else, in order to avoid awkward questions.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyLying @ In Human, All Too Human, philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche suggested that those who refrain from lying may do so only because of the difficulty involved in maintaining the lie.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyLying @ Similarly, the commandment that explicitly forbids a grave type of lying: lying under oath `against' your neighbor, a mortal sin due to the gravity of perjury and of causing grave harm to your neighbor, also implicitly forbids all lying, even when the act is only a venial sin.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyLying @ Scripture not only condemns perjury, but also lying in general.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyLying @ If lying were only immoral sometimes, those who are just would not detest lying.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyLying @ Plus, my case is only made stronger by telling the truth-- I gain nothing by lying, and would set myself up for a great defeat should my lie be discovered.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyLying @ Astute Bible students and critics have noticed a passage in which the prophet Micaiah described a vision in which it appears God not only condoned lying, but promoted it:
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyPride @ Not only is the spirit of pride a definite sin in His eyes, but He is now taking it one step further and calling it an actual abomination in His sight.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyPride @ Christians who have fallen into this type of pride trap will not only start to try and steal the glory from anyone else who may be attempting to compete against them - but they will also try and steal the glory that would only be due to God Himself!
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyPride @ The spirit of pride cannot only come after and enter into those who are working in higher positions of leadership and authority - but it can also come after and enter into anyone else - including any Christian.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyPride @ If we only want to be friends with people who are in our tax bracket and we make no effort to associate with those in more humble positions and occupations, that is pride.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyPride @ Though this failure principle is commonly known in ministry circles, few of us readily admit to having pride and still fewer seem to actively repent.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyPride @ Even though I am a counselor, it was only recently that I learned that the root of impatience in my life is anger and therefore pride.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyPride @ Their pride caused God to only allow the ones twenty years and younger to enter His chosen land, because their prideful ways were an abomination to Him.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyRemorse @ Both failed, at a major point in their lives; but they responded to their failures in radically different ways: Peter repented, whereas Judas only had remorse.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyRemorse @ The Bible insists that remorse and repentance is the only right response to sin; yet man has conjured a substitute - remorse and penance.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyRemorse @ This healing occurs only when the offender repents and demonstrates remorse and the offended one grants a pardon and demonstrates loving acceptance.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveySexuality @ I can only think of one reason for matters pertaining to sex to be so frequently discussed in the Bible--sexuality must be very closely related to spirituality.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveySexuality @ We differ not only in gender, race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, and institutional location, but also in the ways we understand sexuality, ordination, Scripture, and the church.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveySexuality @ Sexuality among humans is disproportionately powerful to the function of reproduction having a life of its own (according to science, the human female is the only female that enjoys sex!) Such is the attraction between men and women, that the love of a single person may become more important to us than conquering a city or owning an empire!
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveySexuality @ Our societys obsession with sexuality may be a thirst for something only God can quench.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveySexuality @ It's never going to be easy (nothing worth having is), but answering the God's call to holiness, and surrendering our sexuality to Him is the one and only way to true, uncompromising, unselfish love through sexual expression.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyShyness @ You are going for only bad things and refuse to think that shyness may be amoral.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyStealing @ Oh, my prayer is that the Holy Spirit will convict of this sin of stealing, causing each heart to be broken before God in repentance, for then and only then will it be evident that the precious blood of Christ has cleansed you from this sin.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyStealing @ The apostle Paul not only demands that the thief quit stealing but commands the thief to go to work so that he or she may start giving.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyStealing @ The penalty for the offense against God remains a ram - the same as the penalty for stealing with later contrition, indicating God's requirement that all acts of unfaithfulness to God are sins of a nature such that they can only be atoned for by the shedding of blood - that is, through payment of life itself.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyStealing @ Stealing and bribery are pervasive in Communist society; it was a system of interlocking thievery that is only slowly being dismantled.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyStress @ If your successes and achievements are completely due to your own strength, stress is the only possible outcome.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyStress @ The only way we can deal with stress is with Jesus Christ, first by believing in Him.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyStress @ Disobedience and sin can produce stress and cut us off from the only means of peace and joy.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyStress @ It is only by His grace, mercy and love that the stress in our lives can be managed.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyStress @ This eternal relationship with the Sovereign of the Universe is our only hope for enduring the stress that this life brings.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyTemper @ You and I will never succeed if we forget to deal with jealousy and only deal with the temper.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyTemper @ Let us therefore never deal only with the temper, since the root of the trouble is not there.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyTemper @ Environment does not create temper, it only brings out the temper that was already in us.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyTemper @ Whoever loses his temper only proves that one specific area or several areas of his self has or have not been dealt with.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyTemper @ The average woman only loses her temper three times a week.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyViolence @ Instead of being a last resort used only in self-defense or the defense of others, violence is often portrayed as normal, favored, and entertaining conduct.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyViolence @ They know that violence does not prove who is right but only who is stronger.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyViolence @ As a result, civilized societies permit violence only for self-defense and the defense of others, and only in amounts necessary to accomplish those purposes.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyViolence @ The book of Leviticus, which is the one commonly referred to, by critics of Christianity, as promoting a doctrine of violence, is found in the Old Testament, therefore it is part of the old covenant, and it's precepts have been superseded by the teachings of the new covenant found in the New Testament.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyViolence @ Though it is unlikely that violence erupted immediately, we see this ruling over women begin to take effect in chapter four only six generations later with the casting aside of God's one man for one woman marriage policy and the appearance of polygamy.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyViolence @ The true answer to the equation is for both genders to repent of their part in this violence cycle and turn to Jesus Christ, who not only can save their souls, but can give them a new heart with the capacity to love each other as God originally intended, way back in the Garden of Eden.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyWorry @ With all the potential danger in the world, there seemed to be only one response--worry.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyWorry @ Focusing on positive things leads to a heart filled with optimism and confidence, while focusing on worry only fills the heart with pessimism and uncertainty.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyWorry @ Before long, my worry was replaced with the peace that comes only with prayer.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyWorry @ Not only is worry counterproductive, it is also a form of disobedience.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyWrath @ In Old Testament times, God not only displayed His wrath toward rebellious Israelites, He also demonstrated His wrath against wicked pagans.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyWrath @ Only those who have received clear revelation about God and who have rejected it will suffer the eternal wrath of God.
index:GOOGLESURVEYQUOTES GoogleSurveyWrath @ kjv@COMMENTS: Habakkuk understands through revelation, what the LORD plansto do to Jerusalem, and he appeals for mercy to temper God's righteous wrath, and not for the benefit of men only, but to revive God's own work for God's glory.

BibleDivorce Jesus could have used the Greek word, "moicheia defined, "adultery"~ if He were teaching that adultery is the only "just-cause" basis for divorce.
BibleDivorce "Is my service for God limited if I have had an unbiblical divorce?" Only in the capacity of elder or deacon.
BibleDivorce Remarriage after a divorce may be an option in some circumstances, but that does not mean it is the only option.
BibleDivorce Malachi strongly emphasizes that divorce violates not only God's original plan for marriage but also the sacred marriage covenant to which the Lord Himself is a witness.
BibleDivorce Apparently, the disciples had been following either the rabbinical view of Shammai which allowed divorce only on the ground of adultery or of Hillel which permitted divorce for any reason.
BibleDivorce A major reason is that many find in this clause the only legitimate grounds for divorce and remarriage.
BibleDivorce According to this interpretation, Jesus allows for divorce only where a marriage should not have taken place in the first place, namely, within the degrees of prohibited relationships.
BibleDivorce Consequently, in Matthew, Jesus does not envisage any exception to the absolute ban on divorce but only allows for the dissolution of a marriage which was validly contracted according to Greco-Roman laws but which was in conflict with the Mosaic law of prohibited relationships.
BibleDivorce Jesus, however, chose not to condemn directly Herod Antipas, but rather to state the principle that divorce is only permitted in the case of an unlawful marriage.
BibleDivorce Rather, He wished to reaffirm the creational principle of the permanence of the marriage union by allowing for divorce only in the case of an unlawful marriage.
BibleDivorce Most Bible-based Christian faiths teach that divorce is to be seen only as a last resort after every possible effort toward reconciliation has failed.
BibleDivorce Since there are only 68 million children (those under 18 years old) in the US today, it would be a lot more accurate to say that almost every child in this country has been affected by divorce, rather than "1 in 60 sees their parents divorce" each year.
BibleDivorce Only Matthew mentions porneia as grounds for divorce.
BibleDivorce So, it was not surprising that, early in His ministry, Jesus expressed His opinion regarding this one particular aspect of the divorce laws, i.e., the controversy that surrounded the word "uncleanness." Thus, His New Covenant proclamation decreed that only fornication, i.e., spiritual and/or sexual immorality, was justification for a divorce, thereby implying that mere displeasure over trivial matters of life were not.
BibleDivorce The Bible allows for divorce only before physical consummation and not after physical consummation (i.e., not after marriage).
BibleGambling Gambling is a difficult issue because if it is done in moderation and only on occasion, it is a waste of money, but it is not necessarily evil.
BibleGambling The ONLY consistent winner in gambling is the HOUSE (the gambling establishments).
BibleGambling Proponents promise huge government income from legalized gambling, but only a trickle of money results.
BibleGambling Even in Nevada, only about one-third of the state's budget comes from gambling.
BibleHarm In the case of self-harm, these issues can probably only be resolved with ongoing pastoral help and/or therapy.
BibleHarm ONLY THOSE WHO ARE INVOLVED IN SELF HARM KNOW WHAT IT IS LIKE TO CAUSE SELF HARM.
BibleHarm This journey you are about to embark upon is not only for those struggling with self harm and self injury and want to find a way out, but for those that know someone who is struggling with it.
BibleHarm You are NOT the only one who struggles with self harm.
BibleHarm If they have been given boundaries, yet those boundaries are not maintained, it causes great harm to a child, as they will not only be in dangerous territory, they will also lose respect for authority.
BibleHarm Only if the beast that had done the harm was known to the owner to
BibleHarm He can only do us harm by trickery.
BibleHarm He can only do us harm by trickery.
BibleHomelessness While difficult to measure, the increase in the demand for shelter beds each year is a strong indicator that homelessness is on the rise, and not only in America.
BibleLoneliness It is only because of the sympathy and understanding of our Lord who himself knew sorrow, grief, pain--and loneliness--that we can approach boldly "the throne of our gracious God, where we may receive mercy, and in His grace find timely help"
BibleLoneliness Often loneliness brought on by developmental, social or situational factors leads to problems that only worsen loneliness.
BibleMarriage But our parents are not the only resource to prepare us for marriage.
BibleMarriage The only claim some brides and grooms have to maturity at their marriage is physical maturity.
BibleMarriage Marriage was considered a grave sin by some of the early Church fathers, and the only way into the kingdom of heaven to be the lifelong mortification of the flesh.
BibleMarriage In the Old and New Testaments there was only one ceremony that signified the consummation of a marriage. That was the marriage supper (or dinner).
BibleMarriage Jehovah's Witnesses view marriage to be a permanent arrangement with the only possible exception being adultery.
BibleMarriage Marriage is the only situation where any type of sexual interaction is acceptable, and even then certain restrictions apply to acts such as oral and anal sex.
BibleRelationship Not only does this great God exist in a perfect community himself, he has also paid a great price to make it possible for us to enter a relationship with him through the merits of Jesus Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
