Faith Of Jesus Daily Devotional

(Developed by RandyP)

kjv@Revelation:14:12 @ Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

The FaithOfJesusDaily2 devotion is a one year passage by passage consideration of the four New Testament gospels Matthew/Mark/Luke/John having the specific focus of:

  1. What is making man to believe as he believes?
  2. What is making man to do as he does?
  3. How that is missing the mark, what it says about our present condition and how Jesus intends to address that like no other faith or religious figure?

In order to keep our pursuit focused within the larger context of the bible, it is important for us to first understand what that greater context precisely is.

Preliminary Context

The question is?

The question becomes then given our devotional focus:

  1. What is making man to believe as he believes?
  2. What is making man to do as he does?
  3. How that is missing the mark, what it says about our present condition and how Jesus intends to address that like no other faith or religious figure?

In the four gospels we have ample opportunity to see various types of people as they encounter and consider Jesus the Christ, as His divine presence reveals their intents and expectations to us. We can ask these things of them daily just as we can ask these things of ourselves. We can examine why for instance if He said that the His body of believers will be as "salt of the earth" by His making, what we might be doing by our own resource to make that salt lose it's nature and usefulness.

The notes and links generated by these passages lead us into all the bible, into the dictionaries, into the maps and concordances. We learn further at the gospel's pace of the revelations and understandings that the gospel would have for us, producing in us a more rounded discernment and knowledge than we'd otherwise allow ourselves.

Further Contexts

In closing this introduction I would like to reintroduce you to our original quotation:

kjv@Revelation:14:12 @ Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Keeping is not just meaning to obey, it is more along the point of to guard. The saints are those who guard the commandment and faith of Jesus to it's truest intended and stated meaning. The early church valiantly guarded itself against the various approaches of Satan against it, most often against the approaches of counterfeit doctrines. In order for us to guard it it must first be revealed to us.

My hope is that you will follow us on this years course of devotion, that we as a body and then individuals will be transformed in the process of His continued work upon us. Let this be our patience!
