Faith of Jesus Daily Devotional - Day 2

kjv@Revelation:14:12 @ Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

kjv@Matthew:1:18 @ Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

kjv@Matthew:1:19 @ Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

kjv@Matthew:1:20 @ But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

kjv@Matthew:1:21 @ And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

kjv@Matthew:1:22 @ Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

kjv@Matthew:1:23 @ Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

kjv@Matthew:1:24 @ Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

kjv@Matthew:1:25 @ And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

What is God doing?

What is man doing?

What does this passage tell us about the about the commands and faith of Jesus that saints are to keep/guard?

There is something that must be said about God and the fulfillment of HIS plan:
  1. The promise made is unconditional and unstoppable.
  2. While individual free will is at play in all of this, it in no way is the determining factor.

The human interaction of free will within God's plan has much more to do with how willingly and how favorably one intends to follow along with the present movement of God's plan pressing forward. We look back on the 42 generations in Joseph's lineage yesterday and we can reasonably prove that each of these men/women followed what God had already laid out for them with varying levels of awareness/willingness/faithfulness; each with particular strengths yes, but more certainly considerable weakness. Those that rose near to the top were those that willingly set aside what commonly would have been done by mere human determination and resource for that which could only be performed by God's.

Joseph will continue to be pressed unexpected directions in the coming passages, not as he would likely see fit, but will remain trusting/faithful to his (and Mary's) small portion within God's mysterious plan. This may be part of what is meant in our study "...they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus".
