Putting In Remembrance

kjv@2Peter:1:13 @ Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;

kjv@2Peter:1:14 @ Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.

Some would accuse me of attempting to mold Peter's words in this epistle into some type of rigid methodology; the feeling being that faith is better left free flowing and unscripted. I see neither sentiment superior to the other unless clearly tied to God given obtained measure of faith opposite the world manufactured Peter is reporting of here. I also see the church world that I live in today as being plagued to an extent by both polarities of view to it's harm; again the key being the spiritual power source either of the two is connected to.

Contextual Anchor:

1. Diegeirō - Stir

Quoted resource: strongs 'G1326'

G1326 @ διεγείρω diegeirō dee-eg-i'-ro From G1223 and G1453; to wake fully that is arouse (literally or figuratively): - arise awake raise stir up.

2. Shewed Me - (see: kjv@John:21:18-19)

Practical Aspects:

What I sense from Peter is the desire for his fellow brethren to be always connected to and energized by the superior source Christ's direct influence, but the practical realization of a near constant human entropy reverting back to a corrupting state observable regardless the human modality. He as much as says so when he says that in lacking true productivity we are short sighted unto blindness even failing to our former natures.

Some times the intention of a good teacher isn't to teach a subject item by item or line by line, but to simply and effectively stir remembrance. Surely we all know that the influence of Jesus Christ upon our lives is meant to be monumental. Often times as pupils we are too hurried seeking only our immediate answers to not reopen the doorway to such monumental influence. Perhaps we should be asking who needs such small tiny answers when there is such a great and transformational influence. Maybe that is the one line item that first should be taught.

Think of kjv@2Peter:1 as a giant stir stick; with it Peter intends to stir our remembrance over and over again, not just once but over and over again continually. Think of what we are trying to design into our FolpfApp1 and FolpfApp1 (and future) resources as tangible extensions of that; Peter's (better yet the Holy Spirit's) stirring. Perhaps it is meant to be a stew of many spiritual elements, VirtuousFaith stirred to meld with precious promises stirred to meld with PatientTemperance and a portion of adding all diligence etc... One day the synthesis has the inspirational flavor allowing for the influence of repentance. Another day perhaps it is influenced by the need to forgive a long departed acquaintance or loved one. Maybe another it inspires the influence of loving an enemy or standing firm in the face of opposition to a certain truth. What ever the day brings, having been stirred in the morning and stirred again at lunch break and yet again in the fellowship of a believing co-worker etc..., the stirring brings remembrance, the remembrance opens up pathways of influence, influence makes for establishment, establishment a platform for continuing in the influence of our Lord's present truth.

The transformed servant/apostle therein is brought to an fruitful abundance in the knowledge of Jesus Christ and is witness to an increasing abundant entrance into His kingdom. It is fruitful in the sense of his/her own present situation and fruitful unto the Lord in the sense of being of becoming a conduit of His influence upon the other believers (and potential) surrounding you.

Is this stirring towards productive knowledge in Christ meant for our casual use in solving our own besetting problems? or for the testament one to another of God's own glory?

Rigid methodology or free unencumbered spirituality are neither a source in themselves, they are merely approaches to staying connected to their proper source. Both have the overwhelming tendency of failing by human drive. It can also be argued that unless one has already been connected, for the sake of establishing familiarity the most productive means of becoming connected might be by methodical and consistently reproducible means.

Another point that must be made in a similar regard is that which is to be remembered needs to be guarded, protected from further corruption, much like the Gospel itself. If it meant one thing to those of the early church it needs to remain the one thing in the generations to follow. This may be why Peter has gone to the extent of writing this down for us as it becomes less easily bent by our selective memories and intentions with it.
